In the Runes screen, select a rune slot, scan the list of available runes, and click the desired rune.
To apply a rune to a piece of gear, select the Runes button at the bottom of the gear info box in the Inventory screen. The ten diamond armor runes take their names from the ten armor sets found in the base game, and the runes' perks compliment the armor perks for their namesake armor. Diamond rune slots are only found on mythical weapons and mythical torso armor. Diamond runes are not very common, and are typically collected by defeating difficult opponents like Lost Drengrs or Zealots. Round runes come in 3 levels, like the Minor Evasion Rune, the Evasion Rune, and the Great Evasion Rune, with increasing stat boosts for each.ĭiamond runes offer perks, or conditional bonuses, such as "Increase speed when low health", or "Ignite your weapon after critical hit". The round runes provide a specific boost to a specific stat, such as a 3 point increase in the armor rating. Runes are separated into armor runes and weapon runes, and for each of these there are round runes and diamond shaped runes. Runes are also offered as rewards for delivering animal parts to the Hunter's Hut and fish to the Fishing Hut at Ravensthorpe. Merchants have a small selection of runes that can be purchased. Runes are looted from defeated enemies and loot chests. Runes are loot items that can be attached to armor and weapons to increase Eivor's offensive and defensive capabilities.
